Is this your first time working with an architect? It’s important to know what to expect before you get started. Architecture services for a typical project will follow the sequence of phases listed below.

Introduction

We’ll start with a call or an email. After that, we’ll set up a time for a walk-through of your project, giving us a chance to meet in person and for me to hear more about your project goals.

Existing Conditions and Pre-Design

Together we will review the “Program” (your project goals), and I will gather the information and measurements that are needed before getting started on the design.

Schematic Design

Sketches of a preliminary design will be presented and you will have a chance to give feedback and ask questions. Once we have an approved preliminary design, we will give it to contractors to provide a preliminary estimate to make sure the project suits your budget.

Permit Drawings

Drawings and documents required for permit submission will be prepared and submitted to your jurisdiction to obtain a building permit. The permit drawings will be submitted to contractors to bid the project.

Construction Phase Services

Attending site meetings, reviewing contractor submittals, and/or applications are all part of the architecture services that occur leading up to and during construction.
